    Hi all,

Does anyone know if the new Corolla hybrid has LED headlights or not?

That might depend on the version you get. Ask for a brochure at your local Toyota garage.

The tourer has them by this article

The Saloon has a different front face to the hatch/tourer but also has LED lights on this info.

cheers, the dealer info says 'bi PED halogens', which is just a projector halogen. The DRL's are LEDs. Their new RAV4 has LEDs.

I'm presuming the corolla has LEDs. When I drove it I forgot to check and the salesman is a little stumped.

The brochure on the UK website only mentions LED headlights in the Touring Sports version. No mention for the regular version, so probably halogen.

Led headlights standard on all new Corolla hatches

LEDs are really an expensive gimmick, unless they are the Matrix LEDs.

I wouldn't agree. My current car has LEDs and they are like driving in day time compared to the halogens in my wife's car.

Yeah, the LED dipped beams in my Prius are great, and halogens feel like fairy lights in comparison now.

Are the LEDs the ones that have that awful blueish light that blinds oncoming drivers!?
If so, they should be banned!

If they're blinding oncoming drivers, they're misaligned, or some dodgy aftermarket crap.

HIDs tend to be more blue.

Xenons could be the culprit there.
    LEDs less so.

What did you think of the new Corolla - headlights aside

I actually really liked it, which is something I never thought I would catch myself saying. It drove really well. I was very impressed with the hybrid tech. I loved how quiet it was. It sipped petrol on my drive.

It didn't have a lot of power, but for my driving, I rarely need it. I drive a Mazda3 with a 2.2 diesel in it that's a rocket, but I barely make use of it.

If the saloon has LED's I reckon I'll be going for it. If not, not a chance.

I got confirmation from the dealer that the hatchback and the estate have LED headlights but the saloon does not.

    Go figure.

Unfortunately it's off the table for me now.

Lots of cars have auto-leveling headlights now, but still eegits out there who have the manually adjustable ones that don't adjust them when they've loaded the boot.

There's a sensor arm on the rear axle for auto-leveling headlights. Both the Prius and Auris I have are auto-leveling, but when you go over a crest of a hill, or speed ramp, they're gonna shine right up at people. Nothing I can really do about that unfortunately.

Keep an eye on if lights are not adjusting correctly when you turn on the car - the sensor and arm can cease up after a few years if not properly maintained.

sorry for being slightly off topic but worth knowing about on any car: here's an old Prius with a faulty sensor but shows what the arm and sensor look like on the rear axle.

Automatic adjustment is required on all HID and LED headlights here, but I found I still had to manually adjust mine (adjustment on the back of the light cluster) as the driver's side was constantly too high.

It's only required with HIDs when the luminous flux is higher than 2000 lm, but with any type of LEDs.
