Hi guys, hoping you can help me out here with some places I should be vacationing in Italy, hoping to book soon but I’ve never been. It’s a holiday with the girlfriend and we’re looking for a sun holiday with plenty of things to do and things to see!

    Thanks!

Personally, I would highly recommend Sorrento. It's a beautiful spot and you can do so many day trips from there- Positano, Capri, Pompeii etc. It's a very safe spot also. Plenty of couples and families and the night time entertainment of street performers is great! We'll definitely go back at some stage :)

I've also done a bus type holiday around Riva del Garda, Sirmione etc and that is also a beautiful part of Italy.

Lake Garda is beautiful , day trips around the lake , a day trip to Venice . Great water skiing .

I'd recommend the Napoli area. Sorrento, Capri, Ischia etc. for a relaxing Sun type holiday and then head over to Napoli itself for a short city break at the end maybe. Don't let the negative stories put you off Napoli, its a brilliant city, lots of culture, history and best food in Italy!!

Flights are expensive so time buying them carefully. Waiting for Sicily flights to drop back a bit. I prefer the Aer Lingus destination than the Ryanair destination in Sicily.

All of the Italian Lakes are gorgeous. We flew with Ryanair to Milan Bergamo and then on to Desenzano where we rented a place for a week. You can move around the lake on a boat or use the local buses to visit the towns by the lake.

Fly to Pisa and then travel around some of the Tuscany towns.
