As the title says, speedometer is not moving and mileage readout is blank

    This is a 2004 Fiesta.

From googling it looks like I might have to replace the speed sensor.

Anybody ever come across a problem like this?

Sounds like a sensor or module issue alright. My 525i had a fault Abs module and while that was out it couldn't tell me the speed nor add any mileage.

Would that make the odometer blank?

Can't remember did mine blank or just not continue monitoring. Could depend car to car.
