The 3rd brake (central at top of the boot) on my 151 Seat Ibiza stays on when the lights are switched on but should only light up when the brakes are pressed.

Anyone seen this before? If it is a faulty unit i will just change it but could it be something else?

Odd in such a new car, but sounds like wires touching.
Do check the cables leading from the car to the boot lid, Look at the rubber gasket, does it look damaged?
Can you remove the gasket and check the actual wiring?

Check the light clusters for ill fitting stop/tail bulbs, take out the bulbs on both sides and see if the problem is still there, unplug the clusters altogether and see if problem is still there.

Ibiza has number plate on bumper so unlikely to be crossed tail/stop wires going into the tailgate (in my unqualified opinion)

It seems to be the cable that stretches when the boot is open that is the problem. Someone is going to look at it today i'll report back.

Ok that cable seems fine (although i can't reach any connectors).

Would anyone know how remove the light? 2015 Seat Ibiza 1.2 petrol
