I have a lab. As he is a lab, he constantly eats - so we've always measured out his food to prevent him becoming over weight.

He will also snack on anything he can get - apples in the garden - horse poop in the field.

Recently he has started eating/tasting other dog poo while out walking. Obviously this is gross and he try not to let him. More interestingly to me is that this is new behaviour - the divergence into dogs. Do you think it could be something missing in his food?

Mixed theories on why they do it.

Our Yorkie loves guinea pig poo which is understandable given their herbaceous diet, but we don’t allow him to eat it as it often makes him sick same as eating grasses do.

He is terrified of dog & cat poo, but that’s bc someone, I suspect, rubbed his little face in it :(

All of my friends who have labs muzzle trained them for off/on lead walks for the same perpetually hungry scavenging reasons.

You could look into appetite suppressants but it might be a habit that he needs training out of

My dog used to try to get cat poo. Knowing this we just pulled her away?
