    Hi all
Has anyone any experience of the Mercedes-Benz B Class B250e.

Some very high spec'd ones available in the UK.
I'm doing a 160 km commute, planning to granny cable at work until i can convince work to install a charger or else head into town and fast charge at lunch time.

    Any info appreciated!

Do a search on the forum for B250e.. plenty threads on it.

It has no rapid charging is its main downfall. Its purely a city car.

Although it does have 11kw charging with Fast AC chargers and regular charging posts (that are 22kw capable). Still wouldn't recommend travelling Dublin to Cork everyday in one!

Its EPA range is just 140km and there is no fast charging, but if you just plan to use this car for your commute and charge it every day at home and at work (and you privately never more than 140km per day), you should be fine

Because of this limitation, the B250e is very good value for money

I think the lack of rapid charge kills it for me.

    Would need more flexibility.

    Thanks for the responses.

It would make a great second car / car for longish commute, but it can never be used for a trip that's over 100km unless you are prepared to wait for hours for it to charge.

In reality thats <50km, unless you have destination charging, as it will only do 100km and you need to get back home! :)

Its the very definition of a city car.

I'd also be worried about Merc servicing it. It was never sold, AFAIK, in Ireland and I'd say you'd struggle to get anything fixed on it if it went wrong.

Plus, you start it with a key!

Really comes across as a "numbers" car. That said, I'd buy one at the right money. But while it's (roughly) the same price as a 30kWh Leaf, it'd have to be the Nissan.
