Was pricing front door pvc. Was quoted €800 + for the cheapest of the cheapest possible. Any thoughts on that price or is that ok. That's made and fitted

I didn't honestly think that price I would of taught between 5 and 6 would be enough. Reason need door is my 1 is warped and button frame gone rotten also leaks when wind blowing towards it. Thanks for all your answers. Much appreciated.

Bog standard pvc door is 500/600 just to buy last time I looked. A company is going to want a few hundred to fit it too so I'm thinking 800 is about right.

Are getting a door without the frame? This might be cheaper.

800 for a white PVC door fitted with glass window and frame..
remember he has to remove old one too if included in price.
thats not bad. Consider it will last you a lifetime unlike the rotten wood one your removing. So its not bad at all all considered :)
a standard double patio doors french doors are about 1700. supplied and fitted last time i checked. they require no maintenance

there are dozens of PVC doors second hand on adverts.ie in great nick. Only problem is of course will you get the measurements right etc GULP

Get the measurements and pick up a second hand door from adverts / done deal or lots of other places that sell them. Probably cost around 2-300 euro. Otherwise €800 for someone to come and sort it for you doesn't sound too bad.

Are external doors in houses usually standard sizes or can it be really any size?
I know internal doors are pretty standard in 90% of most modern houses

they can be any size, but often they are close enough to a standard that you can make them work. I've trimmed brick work and door frames many times to get them into an opening, as long as they are close enough. Never had any problems.

Hi, I'm looking into getting a second hand composite door. Wouldn't have a clue about the fitting process, is this something you do yourself that perhaps I could pay for your service :D
