Trading in a car without its RF101

    Hi,

I have bought a car from Murphy & Gunn Hyundai, which I am due to collect this week, but I have lost my RF101. Having read the guidance RF105, it says:
If the OWNER DISPOSING OF THE VEHICLE which has already been taxed is unable to provide the Certificate RF101 a replacement must be applied for through the local Motor Tax Office using Form RF134 and the appropriate fee. When the replacement Certificate is received, it should be IMMEDIATELY forwarded to the Motor Dealer who acquired the vehicle.

Has anyone had experience of this in the past? Where they able to simple tell the dealer that they had sent off the RF134, and would hand it in when it arrived?

    Cheers,

    ncounties

Just send off for a replacement logbook and tell the dealer that you will drop it into them when it arrives in the post. It usually takes around 5 working days to arrive.

Just an update for anyone with a similar issue in the future. The dealer was happy enough when I showed them a copy of the Garda Stamped RF134 form.

They also said that as soon as I received it, if I could scan it to them, that would mean that they could dispose of the car, and then just post the replacement RF101 to them.

I didn't have to complete a RF105 form, it was just a Hyundai form.
