Not sure which to address first but I'll start with the actual course choice. In school I do maths, english, irish, and the optionals are physics, chemistry, history, and music. I enjoy nearly all except irish and english, but my favourites would have to be physics, chemistry, and history (depending on what we're doing in class). I'm pretty sure i wanna do science next year, but picking what is a problem because i'm so indecisive. 2 months ago chemistry was my favourite and I hated physics, but now i equally love both. I'm nearly sure I would want to do either of those in college but can't pick between the two.
The general science course in maynooth seems perfect to me all things considered, gives me a bit of extra time to see which is my preferred subject outside of the leaving cert. But at the same time, part of me is drawn more towards UCC. I've been down there a few times and as much as I think maynooth is a nice campus, part of me prefers UCC. I do quite like how maynooth is basically a college town and a lot smaller than UCC in the middle of Cork, appeals to the socially anxious side of me. But i also feel that picking a college based on which college I prefer instead of a course is a bad idea.
The only thing I've decided for sure is if I decide I definitely want to do chemistry then I'll go to UCC, because of all the pharma companies down there. But at the moment I'm lost. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated, cheers

I did my leaving cert last year and this thread just popped into my emails. How coincidental as I do the general science course in maynooth. Honestly it was not my first choice but I'm glad i got it. It can be a lot of hard work to do 4 subjects (maths in compulsory) but there's ways around the 4 subject thing. If you have any questions in particular let me know!

If you don't know what you want to do at college, why not take a year out and think some more about it, rather than possibly taking (and eventually not wanting) a place on a course that someone else may have had their heart set on?

There is no race to get to college.

Any chance I could send you a pm to ask about the science course? No bothers if you can't
