Am about to go at my garage here with some shelving.

Basically, I'm going to install some shelving that will be going up in the garage rafters, I will prob go with 2ft wide plywood/chipboard or something, which I will then screw into the timber.

    Something similar to this.

It doesn't need to look pretty, as it will be mostly out of sight.

Just wondering where the best place is to source it, and what folks in here might recommend I go with?

Just left woodies, and it will work out very expensive indeed if I use their stuff.

That looks like 18mm OSB. Get it from any builders providers.

That example you've posted seems to be held up by optimism.

It would be better if there were support members nailed between each pair of uprights, and the boards screwed to those.

OSB is fine especially if you go for 18mm/ 19mm and would probably work out a bit cheaper than than plywood. I wouldn't use chipboard in an unheated space where damp might be an issue. If you have a circular saw and can rip down full size sheets yourself you would be far better off buying 8x4 sheets- even if you have to pay a delivery charge your local builder's providers will probably cost half what you'd expect to pay in Woodies etc. Look at Goodwins.ie for an idea of pricing on the various sheet materials.

you can get OSB 4 feet by 2 feet sheets readily, which may make your life easier instead of transporting and ripping full sheets of osb/ply

Check the price in Build4less before you buy anywhere.

Always found them more expensive than other builders providers tbh

That's funny, I always found them the best value.
