    Hi all.
Been having issues for some months now with all the windows fogging up on my 2013 a4 b8.
Have tried applying rainox and car pro fog fight with poor results.
It just occurred to me that Audi sent out a recall letter informing owners to turn off the supplementary heater until next service due as there have been some issues with same causing fires!
I have turned it off but have no idea what the supplementary heater actually does. Does anyone know if it could be contributing to the foggy windows?

The supplementary heater is an electric element, so won't cause fogging of widows.

The most common causes of fogging are:

    Blocked pollen filter
Leak into car - through doorseals, boot etc.
    leaking heater matrix
Jammed heater flap or heater fan slow

Are you using the aircon at all?

I'd back all that, start with the pollen filter, make sure aur recirculation is off ,as in have air coming in from outside

Already changed the pollen filter for a new one. Old one wasn’t too bad. I do use the air con as it’s quicker to clear the window. Usually stays clear for 3-4 minutes max b4 I need to turn the window heater on again. The air cons not set to recirculate also.
Is it bad or good to use the air con?
There’s no wet carpets or water leaking in anywhere that I can see. Car was never damaged.

Was happening me a lot on my 2014 A6. I changed the pollen filter and made sure it was a charcoal one.I then all the windows a really good clean to make sure there was nothing for the moisture to 'grab' onto. I make sure I use the Climate Control , The Auto Button, on a regular basis in all weather. That helps keep a y moisture level in the car down to a minimum level.

Do you mean you turn the fan off? It’s best to leave the fan on constantly. Also nothing wrong with leaving a/c on constantly. It’ll dry the air and the heater will keep the air warm.

Does this not happen most cars in this weather?

    Not when AC is on.

So your turning off the heating or Fan?
    Or just the A/C.
Either way in this weather yeah windows will start to fog up, condensation from your breath on the cold windows. Windows that are kinda dirty will fog up quicker again.
Also any chance you're drinking a hot drink in the car?

Clean all the glass in the car with a good window cleaner.
    I use meguires
    https://www.halfords.ie/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=15551&storeId=11101&productId=169057&langId=-1&categoryId=212473

Then, turn on the fan & A/C , and leave it on.

If you have climate control, use that.

Even just having clean glass will reduce condensation.

Correct I got that same advice and it works, auto on,the a/ c works as a dehumidifier, sucks the moisture out
