New car price

    Just wondering if anyone came across anything similar to this.

    bought a new car, was given a price from the dealer, looked at other cars from different dealers, but other makes etc.

    prices for this new car werent published yet, and the price given seemed ok. trade in valued and deal was done.

    2 months later came to pickup new car, paper work all completed, just for me to sign.

    car price dropped by 1000, trade in dropped by 1000. so same amount to finance.

    is this normal?

    Very hard to know without knowing how the deal was structured and what offers were going at the time from the brand.
    I'd a deal more or less done on a 2019 but the deal was if the price rises because of wltp I won't have to pay more. A price drop wasn't going to happen we were pretty sure of that so it's not something I asked.

    I’m guessing there’s a €1000 discount on the list price which affects the net value of the trade in?
