    Hiya,

Just recently bought a 520d and I was just wondering where would be a good place to get parts for it. I'd be looking to get most of the fixing, whenever it's needed, by a local mechanic. Also, just wondering if someone has any contact details for any people who might be able to give me any help or advice with possibly upgrading the current idrive in it. I'm based in the west of Ireland.

    Thanks.

Ir depends on the parts but try:
    GSFcarparts.com
    Eurocarparts.com
    BMW

in my experience any sensor / thermostats / pumps etc - only buy genuine BMW - others just give more trouble in long run, then go to OEM via places like above on things like brakes / suspension etc - ie TRW

Since you don't intend to work on the car yourself I am moving this thread from DIY to main forum.

Don't buy parts unless advised to do so by a mechanic. It won't save you much and some mechanics will not fit part they didn't source themselves.

Upgrading to the OE larger screen is huge money, and compatibility is an issue. Look into an Android wide-screen, some very affordable option out there with great functionality.

Sign of to BMW first if you are getting the car serviced with BMW, 20% off servicing and parts. Oil changes are also very cheap with BMW.

F10 is very sensitive with brakes, so always try and get BMW discs.
