Central locking on 2008 Jaguar x type

Anyone know why the central locking via key fob is failing? I’ve changed the battery in the key fob and I have tried to pair the key again myself. No joy. I can lock and unlock with the key in the door although that only opens driver door. I then have to open passenger door to release the other doors and boot. I can cope with it this way if it’s an expensive fix but sometimes there is an easy fix!!

in addition the the key not working right, its often the relay's / micro switches inside the car which operate the lock which go weak / fail over time, needs some testing to find which it is.

Thanks for your response. It starts with "in addition..." which makes me wonder is part of your reply not visible? I think I will get it checked out but if its an expensive fix I'll carry on with just the key!
