    Looking for some information.

Thinking long term. about fixing a few bits in the house.

Currently fuse-board is in the porch.

It might be an idea to move the fuse-board into the kitchen on the other side of the wall.

is it permitted to conceal the fuse-board in a cabinet?

This is info only as this is pie in the sky at the moment

Generally the answer is no. One problem is that it becomes difficult to work on, the other is the risk of people stacking a pile of stuff against it.

A distribution board shall not be installed in the following locations
    - storage or airing cupboards
    -Under stairs
    -where it may be covered
    -in a bathroom/washroom or wc

What do the regulations say on the location of Main distribution boards and Main Isolation in relation to entrance to buildings?

Is there a max distance from a main entry point

No there is no distance limits as to where the fuse board can go. But if it's more than 3 meters away from the meter it needs to be put on a 63amp breaker. If you still want to move your board you will have to rewire the house. You could replace your one for a newer one witch will look a lot cleaner

Thanks,I was familiar with the rules on height and protection of tails.

I thought there was a wiring or building regulation on location in relation to access from entrance

Is the rule about under the stairs in case of fire?
