I'm guessing you're very familiar with Donegal then? Or is it just a good old fashioned dislike of people from the north?

    Donegal is in the south...

Donegal has some wonderful places to visit and magnificent scenery.

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

The "pronunciation" would suggest OP has never even met anyone from Donegal.

Can't be that familiar with Donegal if they typed the thread title in a Munster accent.

I thought it was supposedly a Mayo/West/Connaught accent!

Much better ways to spend €100 and be miserable for the rest of your life than moving to Donegal. Crystal meth for example

You don't have the €100 for the ticket do you?

Don't worry kid, chances of winning fairly small anyway.

Not meaning to belittle the efforts of the organisers, but a photo of the actual house would be a good idea. I clicked the link where you buy a ticket, and there appears to be an architects rendering of a semi-D.

    House mustn't be built yet.
Many buy houses with the same visual information.

The house is under construction and not finished yet

The thing is though it’s not actually obligatory to live in Donegal. This is a raffle to win 200k at a cost of 100. Raffles have to be won and can’t be shared so in that respect are better than lotteries.

As for the odds, who knows. They only need to sell 2000 tickets to break even. Would they sell 5000?

Fairly good odds anyway relative to most.

Donegal has some wonderful places to visit and magnificent scenery.

Yup, Slieve League(highest cliffs in Europe), Errigal, the whole of the Wild Atlantic Way staring from Bundoran to Malin Head, any number of blue flag beaches mostly secluded so not over ran by tourists , Dunree Fort, Gleanveagh national park etc etc

And no, I'm not from Donegal.

Are there many burglaries up in that area?

Donegal is gorgeous. If I could stand to live in a quiet place I would love to live there. No idea what you're on about OP.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,165 ✭✭✭✭astrofool

So for €100 you have between a 99.9995% and 99.9998% chance of not having to live in Donegal? Seems like a good deal.
