Google Street View

So, it seems Google has taken fresh photographs for Street View. On my street they took one in April 2017, and again in July 2018 Looking at Google Earth, fresh satellite images were taken last summer. Any one know why they are updating more frequently? Any way of knowing exact dates of photograph?

I'm unsure.
They did the main street in my town last Summer but the side streets weren't done since 2010.
