Back in the 90s & 00s tg4 did pretty innovative shows for the youth market, shows like Hollywood anocht, POP4 and Afric, now they have completely abandoned the 13-25 yo market and they show British game shows from 5-7pm, which surely is crazy for a public service channel trying to promote the Irish language?

There isnt really a market for it anymore, their target audience would be young children and adults. I wouldn't know of many under the age of 30 that still watch live tv other than the news and live sports.

Yes the youth aren't watching linear channels like they used to but the point is that TG4 is a public service broadcaster that exists to promote the Irish language, there isn't any Irish language media online for the youth either so it's a major failure on TG4s part to neglect the teen market.

TG4 have invested into youth online through their bloc hub

And while TG4 may not be spending enough on either Childen's or Teen's programming at least they are doing this unlike RTÉ.

IMO its important to have this content on TV also both for RTÉ and TG4.

This replaced their previous teen block called Ponc, TG4 are far more innovate than RTÉ, they saw the need for an online play about 3 years before most, it might have been basic windows player but it was still a player.
