Got an extension built 15years ago.
Now looking to sell and asked for certificate of conformity.
If I get an architect to sign off the work and delay sale by say 2years will that certificate still apply or will I have to get another one done in 2years? Thanks in advance.

You have your wording mixed up.
Whenever you go to sell, you will be asked to provide the following :

    1. Documentation on Planning Permission.
    2. Opinion on compliance with that planning permission.
    3. Opinion on compliance with Building Regulations.

If the extension did not require planning, then you'll still need the following :

    1. Opinion on compliance with the exempted planning regulations.
    2. Opinion on compliance with Building Regulations.

Delaying the sale for 2 years or 5 years or 10 years wont change those requirements.

I definitely got it wrong!!! An architect will look at me funny if I asked for the wrong cert. Thank you for clearing that up and appreciate your time.
