Im considering changing my 08 Ford Focus 1.8TDCI and keen to hear suggestions on a replacement car.
This car has been bomb proof with 140,000 miles on the clock and only timing belt and flywheel ever needed.

First off while i enjoy the performance of the diesel im i wont be doing a lot of mileage at all as work is close by hence im considering a petrol this time round plus im hearing they are trying to phase out diesels [not sure how true this is]

I definitely dont want to buy brand new so looking at the used market.

The skoda octavia springs to mind as a decent sized car.
Maybe i should stick with Ford, friend is raving about a 1 liter focus petrol with 120 bhp?
I just want a reliable family car.

We bought a Qashqai+2 and find it fantastic, we have 2 young kids so needed plenty of space. We bought it through charles hurst on the naas road and saved about 4 grand on the average price here. high spec with all the extras too.
