Prius 2013 Gen 3 T4 Jap Import - Experience from Jap Import owners

    Hi,

I'm about to pull the trigger on buying a Prius 2013 Gen 3 T4 Jap Import.
I am aware of the issue with the radio/sat nav being incompatible (radio frequency bands etc), and am getting a replacement Android based double din head unit.

But any bad experiences with Prius Jap imports? Or ideally, you own one and never had an issue with it being a Jap import as opposed to Uk/Irish import.

I read about Toyota not necessarily being able to service/scan the hybrid system?

I'm assuming all the typical consumable parts are available, but if I had a crash then some parts may not be available locally and need more expensive sourcing/shipping.

    regards,
    RG

Well it's not "T4" if it's a Jap import - that's a UK trim level, so someone's telling you porkies.

Japanese trim levels are L, S, G, and Touring Selection which I think is an option on top of S or G.

I'm not sure what exactly Toyota dealers can or cannot do with JDM cars, but they will not offer any battery warranty (up to 10 years in conjunction with annual Hybrid Health Check on European cars) and any diagnostics may be "best effort" only.

I don't know if parts differ at all with Japanese models.
