Hi peeps, I am on here on behalf of my parents who are thinking of getting a new car, possibly at the start of summer.

At the moment we have a Peugeot 306 which is currently getting looked at by a mechanic due to the fact that, for 4 days in a row, it would not start. It is a fairly old car which has always had issues with being a slow starter but apart from that, it runs ok, it is mainly used for getting parents to work and at weekends, it is used for getting to whatever activity or place we decide as a family to go to, for example; going to the cinema or swimming pool etc.

So, what is a reliable car worth considering? I personally would not mind anything by Renault or Citreon, what do you guys reckon?

Need to know what the budget is. Are they looking for a similar sized car to the 306?

No budget preference and, no, they want something a bit bigger with more boot space.

Ford Fiesta, Escort or Ka and the Smart car is another preference for myself :).

Anyone know if the Smart is reliable?

And I'm not sure the Smart fortwo from your other thread would have worked out too well for the family trips to the pool :)

2 to 3 year waiting list on rhd Tesla Model 3 by those who put deposits on them ages ago with production only set to begin this year, yet the OP's parents managed to pick one up in less than a week.

Slow week on the internet OP. 0/10 for effort.

Will Tesla offer them a good trade in on a non starter 306?
