My wife left a ring for repair with a jeweller and was told it would be about 100, they rang today saying it's ready and the price is 200. Can they do this without telling us first and getting the go ahead?

They probably can but it's not on in fairness I would be questioning them as to the pricing do you have anything in writing from them on the repair quote?

No we just have a deposit receipt for €15 unfortunately.

If they didn’t get your agreement on the price, then I’d dispute it. They shouldn’t have done the work unless they had your agreement.
