Taxing 2nd hand car?

    Hi,

    Bought a car from a garage last year and Tax is up end of month.

    How do I go about this? dont have a log book for it

    If you bought either private or from a garage you should have the logbook.. ie the vehicle registration certificate.. did you ever have this document.. then is the car actually registered to you or who actually legally owns or insurers the car..
    Get registration cert sorted and then worry about taxing it secondly

    "Last year" is a bit wide. I assume you mean you got it in December and had it for about or month give or take?
    Check with seller, they may not had time to send it off, or it's with Shannon

    Bought it from a garage last sept.

    Car is insured in my name and never had the vehicle reg cert

    Dealer should have documentation in your name now, have a look on motortax.ie to see if a change of ownership has been registered on the vehicle.

    Contact the garage it's the sellers responsibility to submit the name change to Shannon.
    I assume you at least signed your part of the document to be sent to Shannon?

    Only seams to go back 3 months on that
