    Can vat be reclaimed for stone/digging for roadways?

    Yes, along with fencing, readymix etc. Make sure the docket you get has the suppliers vat number.

    Its form Vat 58 right?


    I ask as the form states the below? I guess that is for repairs rather than a "new" road.



    NB: VAT is not refundable on:

    • repairs to farm buildings, structures and farm roadways
    • outlay on roadways to dwelling house
    • mobile equipment and machinery
    • repair, service and maintenance of equipment and machinery
    • ESB supply
    • fuel, oil, diesel

    Good article on this weeks farmer journal about claiming Vat & other tax related stuff.

    That refers to 'repairs', got the VAT back on many machine hours and tons of stone regardless of usage....;)

    Once you make sure “drainage stone” is on invoice, no questions will be asked, same with digger invoice
