In my upstairs toilet when I flush the toilet and then I go over to wash my hands with the hot basin tap, the cold water that's filling the toilet cistern tank completely stops running, and then when I turn off the hot tap, the toilet suddenly start flowing water again. Its does the same thing to the cold tap on both the sink and bath. Anyone have idea why this is happening? I can't seem to figure it out

I dont suppose you have a combi boiler with everything supplied off The mains?

No unfortunately it's alot more complicated then a combi boiler. I've a baxi wood pellet 25kw boiler out in the boiler house

So can we assume that this worked perfectly at some stage and the cold tap had aqueduct flow and the toilet filled at a reasonable rate?

Has anything valves been opened/closed to see if this fixes this problem or is it possible that there is a poor pipe run that has got air in it causing an air lock that allows a poor intermittent flow when it does work at all?

Any filters or pressure reducers anywhere in the system (some pressure reducing valves have a built in filter)?

No I didn't go near any of the valves in the hot press. Everything was perfect for 10 years until this started to happen recently. Theres a constant water pumping running in the boiler house and the boiler is on 24/7. I changed the water pump a month ago and no difference. I have one red pressure vessal out there and a white pressure vessal in my hot press. I do have a air vent on top of the boiler and another in the hot press, so would that not stop a air lock from happening? I did have to change both air vents last summer when they started leaking. No I don't think there is any pressure reducers or filters in the system I didn't see any. I did have a air lock back in April when I replaced my downstairs toilet and maybe I didn't get all the air out is all I can think of.
