I'm in the market for a new 50-55" TV and the Philips 6703 has caught my eye due to a number of good reviews.

Someone else asked about this TV a few months back and RS advised the following

"The 50PUS6703 has been awarded 5 stars in What HiFi and really is great value for money but the start features are a little behind some of the others.
Currently priced at £429 or 499 Euro

What was meant by the 'start features' and what is the best Boardie price on this model?

Finally, are there any other TV alternatives worth considering at this price?

    Thanks in advance,
    ArcticFox

    Hi Arctic Fox,

I think it's a Typo, it should say Smart features. The smart hub is not as well laid out as some competitors and does not have as comprehensive an app store.

Saying that it's hard to beat the panel as it uses local dimming as opposed to an edge light which gives more natural brightness, colour and contrast. The smart hub isn't too bad but it is definitely the best panel at that price point.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David

    Thanks David, that makes sense.

It seems to be available at £429 in most places at the moment.

Could you please PM me your best Boardie price on this tv at present?

    Appreciate your help

    Hi Arctic Fox,

Our TV comes with a 6 year guarantee which a competitor would have to include as well (or a 5 year warranty).

I do have a promotion running on it with a £30 off voucher so could do it for £449 with £6.99 shipping.

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David

Thanks for your response. Could you match your price from a mere month or so ago - £429? I'm a longstanding customer with a history of purchases with RS.

    Hi Arctic Fox,

I wouldn't be able to go that low on it as the promotion has finished and the pricing has changed however I can throw in shipping for you?

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

    David
