I'd like to be able to tell the app to simply turn on the heating at 5am and turn it off 1 hour later but despite many efforts can't figure out how. Should this be possible? Many thanks

In the app, go to My Schedule. Tap on the pencil icon to edit that day. Schedule a profile just for 5-6. Repeat for each day.

Your profile should be called something like comfort or just make a new one first and give it a name before you schedule it. Make sure you set the target temperature higher so it definitely activates, go with 25 degrees.

Thanks, I looked at that. However for it to work the thermostat needs to be on, yes? If so, then it's going to turn on the heating when the temperature drops, which I don't want in this case. I just want it to turn on for 1 hour in the morning before I get up. I live alone and am often not at home in the evenings, so don't want heating when I'm not there.

Set all the schedules to 7 degrees bar 5 to 6am each morning. It'll be pretty cold for it to be below 7 in the house :)
