I have an interview during the week and wondering what do I wear

The job is local government and I don’t have a suit that fits. I can’t afford to buy one

Is a black trousers/ skirt ok with a blouse or neat top and cardigan

Black trousers or black skirt with a blouse would be fine. Better that it's not too low cut so that you aren't conscious of it in the interview. Do you have a suit type jacket you could wear with it? Even in a different colour.

    Best of luck.

Not one that fits and unfortunately I can’t borrow one either due to sizing

Local government I wouldn't be too concerned, presentable and professional, no need for a suit. You'll find the interviewers won't be wearing one either.

Not a cardigan though. Trousers or skirt, shirt or blouse, coat, shoes. Done.
