Rear window heater/demister

Hi guys, my rear window demister doesn't seem to be working. I've had it checked during a service, the guys say there's power to the rear window, but indeed the heater elements aren't working. Car's a volvo s60, 2012.

I've had a quick look at the lines, and one break is visible about 5th or 6th line down from the top, but that wouldn't cause all of them not to work, I'm sure?

Will the headliner have to come down to check out the wiring, or is the wiring for this likely to be under the seats and up that way? What's the best way to go about troubleshooting? Thanks for any advice.

I always 'assumed' the element was one continuous loop!? So if that's the case then one break would make it not work/heat up..

There are fixes for this,go to car components outlet, actually another thread on here somewhere ref same, basically it's a kit,or a tube of something that u lay on yourself, sorry for not being specific

I've used the conductive paint before alright, on another car - is this what you mean?

Usually "elements" or "grid lines" are independent. At least on two cars i own, i have several lines "broken" but the rest are working OK, but it probably depend on layout. If non of "grid lines" working then could be "bus lines"(usually heavy ones on each side) are damaged/ bad contact/relay issue, etc. Simple multi-meter should show if power delivered to rear window
