my silage this year is very dry and cattle not inclined to eat it when a bale is opened after a day

Just wondering if I put a bit of molasses on it would it make it more palatable

They'd eat sh1t if it were covered in molasses, you'd want to be careful not to scour them though. You could dilute it with water.

I,ve had stuff like that myself over the years.would you have other silage that's not as dry and alternate it with the dry stuff from one day to the next if it's bales?

they may eat it abit quicker for you that way.can be hard to get stuff right when it comes to silage sometimes. lots of lads with the same trouble after last summers few scorching weeks.
