Can anyone tell me what EOs do in garda stations, I am starting soon and the only info I have is the contact person.
There does not seem to be much info on EO in AGS. Is it a relatively new position.
    Do u supervise any staff?

It can vary hugely depending on location, size of station, office you are assigned. I have been an EO in AGS for less than a year and have had two totally different roles in that time.

Some EOs do manage staff but many don't. Once again it all depends on where you end up.

    Hi Crunchymomma
If u dont mind be asking where are u based.
I have been assigned to a divisional hq in dublin and am reporting to the chief super.
Is the job mainly typing and filing like COs, Am I right in saying there are not that many EOs in AGS.

I'm in a regional hq outside of Dublin.

There is actually loads of EOs in AGS these days with all the civilianisation. There is three including myself in my office if six. I have done very little typing or filing since I got here. I'm a finance officer so deal with payroll matters and before this I dealt with court stuff.

If you are in the regional hq you could really end up doing anything as many processes are centralised there
