I am being cheeky and saying the greatest in my opinion!

10th January 1999 - The Sopranos was first broadcast on HBO. Some say it kick started a new golden age for TV.

What are people's memories of seeing it for the first time and how do they think it holds up after 20 years? Especially against all the excellent TV shows we are spoiled with in 2019.

Fantastic show. Set the standard and has led in my opinion to TV shows been vastly superior to films nowadays. It's my number two favourite show though, The Wire still tops the list but only just.

Watched it all again recently and its just fantastic. It had humour, action, suspense, and drama. Gandolfini was immense as Tony. It's hard to believe how different he was in real life from the personality to his accent. The last season was excellent, and I even enjoyed the ending. It suited the show to leave it the way it did. sometime i think no matter what the end people will have an issue with it, Breaking Bad to me gave a definitive ending and yet people weren't happy with that either.

One show i'll pass onto my Sons to watch.

Great show, and James Gandolfini was fantastic and it still holds up today.

Sorry to be pedantic but it's called "The Sopranos" not "The Soprano's".
