Hey all, I'm not well versed in cars at all but a friend of mine is looking to trade in their 1ltr 2016 Seat Ibiza -5dr and I think the spec is down as Se St/so (not sure if that's the spec)

They want to get a rough idea how much this car is worth now. It's in immaculate condition inside and out and only 28500km on it.

They plan on upgrading to the 191 version. And again want to know what they'd be expecting price wise.

I've had a look on cars Ireland and dealers seem to be selling the 2016 version for between 9 and 11k. I said I'd try find out for them to the best of my knowledge but figured it was a good idea asking in here too. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What dealers ask for their cars and what they actually sell for can be two different things as is what they will allow you as a trade in value. The trade in value will depend on a number of factors like the value of the car you are trading it in against, how much the dealer thinks he can sell it on for which allows him to make a profit and how much discount from the other car he adds to yours to bump up it's trade in value tom make it more appealing.

Your best thing to do is shop around the various dealers (including different dealers of the same brand). This will give you a good idea of what it's trade in value will be and who is offering the best cost to change price.

Call a few dealers and ask for a trade in price.
