Seems to work fine for UK and NI regs. Maybe you can try it and confirm it works well. Might be of use to anyone buying on Donedeal or the likes and…

I stumbled across this on Hot UK Deals. Tried on a car I knew was a cat S and one that was cat N. Seems to work fine for UK and NI regs. Maybe you can try it and confirm it works well. Might be of use to anyone buying on Donedeal or the likes and are suspicious of the car.

1. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/sell-my-car

2. Type in the cars REG number and Mileage (Doesn't work for vans)

3. Click "CREATE YOUR AD"

4. If it has picked all the car details up you're good to go. Now please click "NEXT STEP"

5. Now we're on the page that displays the estimated vehicle value. And on the right hand side you'll clearly notice if its a CAT C or CAT D, N or S. If it is a CATC, D, N or S then auto trader will not give you a estimated value.
