Garda Vetting Form Consistency

    Hi All,

Just a passing query - Was browsing work & jobs and it occurred to me due to all the Garda Vetting posts on here.

I filled out a GV form 4-5 years ago in order to help out with a local community activity.

The person I handed it to (community volunteer type person) at the time asked me had I copied it for my own records/future use etc. and I said no... work on - As I wasn't organised and wanted to save hassle.

My query is that at the time I filled it in I was as accurate as could be re addresses and dates etc but some of the info was from decades previously and was really to the best of my recall.... So when I fill out my next one it will not be consistent and so on.

So does this matter? Should I ask for the original form so I can copy it? Are GV forms recorded centrally and cross-compared?

In hindsight I would say its actually very good advice to keep your own copy of these people!!

    Thanks for the help....

    Hey
No they aren't kept - I had to call the GV office last year as I was in the same boat and she told me they aren't kept and to fill it as best I could remember. I have kept a copy of the most recent one !

    Thanks Dovies!

Yes - They're a pain to fill in so having a photocopy would be infinitely preferable regardless of consistency issue.
