Eir Bill Issue

    HI, I have been trying to get through on the phone since 02.01.19 and have spent approximately 4 hours on the phone without speaking to someone. I don't have time to waste so do not direct me back to your phone lines. My issue is husband left home in July 2018, bills were in his name. He came up to the house on Nov 11th to cancel all bills and we re-issued all in my own name and my single bank account. The joint bank account is now closed. I then received bills in his name. I was told by your team not to open these as they don't belong to me. However, I am not receiving any bills in my own name and haven't paid a bill in months. As I am ill, I cannot be without my phone line. My services will be cut if I don’t pay for them, but I have no way of paying them- no bill, no account number etc. The wait times to speak to someone on the phone are between 30 minutes to 1 hour. I have spent approximately 10 hours waiting on the phone lines since 02.01.19 and am then cut off every time without speaking to someone. There are huge amounts of people complaining about wait times on boards.ie. I have tried the chat service numerous times but am directed back to 1901, which is not contactable. I am at a loss of what to do.

    Hi MFlack2012.

    We would have to speak with the account holder to discuss the account. Only the account holder can make changes to their account.

    What I would recommend is getting the account holder to request a change of account ownership by emailing - accountchange@eir.ie

    We would have to speak with the account holder to discuss the account. Only the account holder can make changes to their account.

    What I would recommend is getting the account holder to request a change of account ownership by emailing - accountchange@eir.ie

    Hi Ahren,

    The account holder could be dead for all I know. I haven't spoken to him or seen him for more than 20 minutes (1 day), 6 months ago. He came to the house specifically to request changes on all our joint bills. Every bill has been changed without hassle except for Eir. I don't know where he is, don't have contact with him and don't have a contact address or number for him. This is my home and I am paying the bills alone on a single account. I use the service, not him.

    On the 11.11.18, we made these changes together. He spoke to one of your team and requested the changes be made, I then took the phone and finished the call by confirming my name and giving all my bank details, DOB, phone and email address and password. 

    I am still getting bills in his name to my house and none of my own. These will not be paid as I was told by your team to not open letters addressed to him and to return them as unknown at this address, the joint account associated with these is closed.

    I am seriously ill at present and cannot be without my landline (which my treatment is linked to) so what do I do?

    Please be mindful that this is an old service, that hasn't been changed, so I am long since out of contract. This is my last effort to stay with Eir. As I am with Virgin media for everything else (Including phone line), it would be very easy for me to move services.
