    Hello

I have just ordered a oneplus 6 and will be moving shortly to this device from my Samsung galaxy s8 plus.

I have a lot of apps and app settings including passwords etc set up on my exising phone and would like to somehow transfer all these easily to the new phone.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best and easiest way to do this. I have thought about possibly issuing titanium backup app to back up apps and app data on my Samsung phone and to then try and import this backuo file to the new oneplus is this something which should work and does anyone have best practices or experience which they can share?

    Many thanks in advance!

Google Backup is part of Android, when you setup the new phone and sign into your account - it will prompt you what you wish to restore.

Follow the steps to make sure it is on below (it is usually by default). Google Photos will backup / restore your photos as well.

Thanks. However if I recall correctly, this will only automatically reinstall apps but will not setup app data and specific app settings which may be possible with titanium backup

This did used to be the case but it also restores that too (see below) - I have recently done this from a LG G6 to a Mi A2, it works great. I'd also highly recommend using Google Chrome sync for your passwords if not already enabled (also does your history, bookmarks, settings etc).

Thanks for all these very helpful responses. So from what I can see, easiest and best option is to use this Google backup function and avoid think about something like titanium backup app.

I tried the android backuo option to restore everything to my new phone. It installs the apps but the main problem I have is that it doesn't set up the apps with login details and passwords. I need to manually login to all these apps again. In addition, no all app data is backed up and some has to be transferred manually to the new phone.

I see this as being a key advantage of titanium backup becuae if I understand it correctly, titanium will back up all apps with all app data including login information and I can then reinstall these apps quickly to my new phone and should then work better than the android backup option.
