Passat bonnet won’t open

    Anyone have any experience with a 2011 Passat CC bonnet catch not releasing?

    When I pull the release on the driver side door the bonnet lifts. But the secondary release won’t let go.

    I had a go at removing the VW logo from the bonnet but can’t see any easy way to release the catch.

    The cars coming up due on a service and I want to get in to get the oils etc.

    These VW latches are a problem alright. Weather gets into them and they corode and eventually wont release. Either the cable or pulling arm then gives way. So don't force it. I had a golf that developed the same problem. After breaking the pulling arm part I then flooded the latch with wd40 regularly for a day. Then got a pull on the cable and she popped open.

    So lash the oil in would be my advise
