Did a exam pretty badly recently and just wondered how many marks are needed to get the 40% pass?
    Cheers

40% of the marks available would be needed to pass so for example if the exam was worth 100% of the module.

If there were 100 marks available you'd need 40 marks to pass.

If there were 200 marks available you'd need 80 marks to pass etc.

This would change if there a continuous assessment in the module meaning you'd need a combination of 40% from the continuous assessment and the exam to pass.

Nope 80% but the assignment for it was 20%

Well, 50 out of 80 would give you 40% overall. But surely you will pick up marks from assignment

Do you know how you got on in the assignment worth 20 per cent? If you know that it's a lot easier to figure out.
