I have some pedigree bulls that are around the year old. I want to sell them March/April. They are a bit small in size. What would be the best feed to grow them? Soybean meal, ration etc

What weight are they now? What are you feeding? Don’t panic stuff them and end up selling an overdone bull that will suffer stomach problems for years.

Between 300-350kg. A high protein cooked ration.

They won’t be fit and be right, keep them moving like an ordinary weanling and have them right for the back end or early next year.

Are bulls that are only 300kg at a year old really suitable for breeding?

Good point, that's what I am afraid will they grow on enough for late spring. They are angus.

They are starting to grow on now.

I'd go more by their frame than their weight

Are they inside or outside? I'd aim to be selling the in May or June. Always customers for bulls then. Always find bulls at that age do better outside at this time of year
