you most likely need to set up the APN in settings

Eir have a guide here - click into your manufacturer or device and follow the steps.

if your device isn't listed just pick an android phone and you should be able to work it out

Thanks i got that. But each time i want to go online i have to enable mobile data/apps/wireless networks/more/mobil networks/network operators.

There must be a quicker way. I select the eir and it says regd on network.

Some times i cannot get online. in a coffe shop it went on via their wi fi instead of my mobile data

What phone have you? Something doesn't seem right. Most phones when you enable data and it stays on until you switch it off again or switch on the wifi which takes first order unless the wifi signal is bad.

xperia l1. it does stay on till i switch it off but i have to go through all the steps

    /apps/wireless networks/more/mobil networks/network operators.

i dont seem to have option to save mobile operator..

I would not use it much. switch on/look up something/switch off. when i come home it automatically picks up my wifi .

When you pull down from the top of your screen to see your notification bar do you see an icon for your mobile reception?

Long press on this and it should bring you to the network settings.

Yes it should connect once you press the icon from the pull down menu providing the network settings are correct. You shouldn't need to go through to the network providers each time.

How would i find if the network settings are correct. Do i need to add new network?

    Thanks for the help guys

The APN is the configuration your phone should use when connecting. Once you've edited and saved it, make sure it is selected in the menu where you added it.

Once it's selected, whenever you are not connected to a wireless network (like wifi at home or something) and your phone wants to use data, it will try to connect using those settings. You don't need to turn off mobile data at any stage, unless you really want to.

You can test your mobile data anywhere, just turn off your wifi, and try to open a website. Your network icon should show a letter next to it, like E, G, H, 4G, or LTE. That will signify it's finding and connecting to a network. If you see a small cross next to it, it may be incorrectly set up.
