My A4 is due a 2 year inspection/service and the stealers in Sandyford want €379 to carry it out.

Anyone know anywhere that offers a reasonable price for a stamped inspection in Dublin?

Can't do it myself as I don't have VAG Com to reset the interval

379 for filters, oil and a health check is mad

    Cheers

I'll be the dealer defender here, but €379 isn't awful for a full service, oil, air, fuel and pollen filters done by an Audi main dealer. You get 12 months roadside assistance too which has a value. and "free" coffee and biscuits, "free" collection and delivery of you or the car, "free" valet, "product enhancements" etc etc etc.

I'd also say, having looked at the Audi South Dublin building alone, you could hardly go in there expecting it to be the cheapest service center around, the place is only short of being gold plated so it's probably a little unfair to go in with "stealers" type nonsense. It's for people who like the experience too and don't mind paying a little extra for it. The Hilton and the Travel Lodge are both only a bed for the night, after all.

You could probably save €80-100 by going with an independent workshop. Gerard Lee's in Dunlaoire has a good name for German car servicing, definitely worth a call.

The free coffee and biscuits would definitely be the deal maker here.

You will also get the Audi Customer goodwill service which could mean a nice discount on parts or any problems that might happen later on.
