I have ADHD, which is medicated, and suffer depression and anxiety also on medication for it.

I am currently applying for a new job. I am well educated and work in middle management roles.

I am aware at interview I will be asked about my health. Is it absolutely essential that I declare it?

I was diagnosed in my last employment

Don't offer up a single word about it. And you shouldn't be asked directly about it in the first place either.

You may be asked why you left your previous job or now looking for a new job, just say the usuall BS.

Id say nothing, it isn't visible so how are they to know. I have to declare as I'm Deaf, nothing i can really do about it as i can't really hide it ( can't hear anything at all). I need to declare it before interviews for reasonable accommodation.

Thanks. Just worried as ADHD is classed as a disability but I honestly do not class myself as disabled.

The MH was caused by the last job and was the reason I left. It wasn’t the job itself just caused by something in particular at my last job

Deafness is classed as a disability, even though us Deaf people don't see ourselves as having a disability, it's a label put on us by hearing people. It's a nightmare getting employment, we have very high levels of unemployment in the community. The biggest issue we have is being put on the same pedestal as hearing people when we are / our needs are very different.

To be honest it’s a disgrace.

firstly, why would you be asked about your health in an interview?
Secondly, does your ADHD affect your performance to the level where it would need to be advised to your employer so that they could make necessary adjustment for it?

    I also don't think he'll be asked.

I wouldn't think it would need to be mentioned at the interview, but if you get the job you will probably have to go for a medical, and at that stage then you would need to mention it to the doctor. I would hope that it would not have any impact on the doctor's decision as to whether or not you are fit for work but I've no idea if it would.
