Apologies I know there are a few of these kicking about but as I know nada about cars I thought i'd ask for some advice.

My Wife and I are looking for a spacious SUV to cope with the demands of our growing family - Currently we have 2 under 2 and we're hoping in the next couple of years to have a 3rd.

My wife is leaning towards a SUV and particularly a 7 seater although my thoughts are an a 5 seater would be suffice for 98% of the time.

We'd probably be doing 10k a year with a mixture of motorway and country miles and the need for a big boot is a must.

With only 2 babies at the minute my main concerns are to future proof in-case we have a 3rd, a car that is reliable and practical with a view to keeping for 10 years.

This leads me to the Honda CRV but open for persuasion for anything less than 20k sterling..

CRV is a good bet as they fit three child seats across the back reasonably well, they are reliable and also are quite well priced second hand in the U.K.

BMW 2 series is well priced on the used market but the design might not be to everyone’s taste

A 7 seater might be handy the odd time but most of them have little boot space with all 7 seats in use, ie probably not enough to fit even a double buggy and baby bags etc. I’ve survived with estate cars and three kids under 6 but it was a struggle with getting two seats and a booster to fit across the back so doing it again I might have considered something like a CRV

Peugeot 5008 has three separate isofix fittings across the second row of seats so can take three kids seats. It has a big boot especially with the 6th and 7th seats down. Sounds like a car that would be right up your alley and future proofed for more kids.
