Hi, was looking to install something like this to allow people to have a shower in the main bathroom.

Actually bought one a few months ago, but chickened out from putting it up as it was only going to be held in place by 4 screws, 2 at top and 2 at bottom. The bathroom is fully tiled, but the wall where this is to be hung is not solid, so fearfull that I could make a terrible hash of things; how are the screws meant to hold and not spin if there is nothing for them to grip onto?

If anyone has done this I'd appreciate some advice on how to do it right.

Assuming the supporting wall is stud partition you can get special rawl plugs for tiles which expand and grip the wall when the screw is inserted, ask in your local hardware shop, you can also get what are called toggle bolts

The tiles will hold it not plasterboard. We hang showers and shower poles in bathrooms every day. You'd be amazed the weight tiles can take. I would no worries hanging a 75 or 85 Inch TV on a stud wall if it was properly titled.

Don't forget the door /screen will be resting some of the weight on the bath itself. Simply drill tiles & put in a plastic plug. I use 6mm bit with red plugs. In over 30 years as a plumber I've never seen correctly fitted tiles not support a screen.

The main advice I'd give is to watch a few Youtube videos on drilling through tile. It takes some patience (and good sharp drillbits!). Other than that, it's a very simple job.
