The A1 and A2 are based on the Redmi design and internals.
The new Redmi phone should be revealed soon to give us a hint of what the A3 could be like.

The A2 wasn't really tho. Had different cpu and camera components to redmi.

The phone will be likely be released first as the non Android one 7x as happened with the mi A1 (5x) and A2 (6x)

Speculated that the A3 will have the Snapdragon 675.

Hopefully, Xiaomi start putting NFC in their phones. They have some insanely competitive phones but lack of NFC means I'll never consider them.

I am like this at the moment too. Currently have the Redmi Note 4 and it has been excellent for two years but has slowed up a lot lately. As soon as there is a good Xiaomi phone with NFC, I am getting it :)

The Mi 8 can be got from AliExpress for around €350 delivered and has NFC as well as a load of other good stuff.

true - this is more about the A2 price range tho - up to the 250 euro mark AND with stock android which once you have it's hard to go back to manufacturer skins

there is no real need for the 845 cpu for most people. what's in the A2 at the moment the snapdragon 660 (60% of the 845 power) is more than enough for fast operation and even running the most intensive games at medium to high settings.

what the A2 most missed was the bigger battery and NFC. and for some the headphone jack and sd card.

that's why the A2 Lite has been a huge seller in comparison to the A2 as it has the big battery, jack and sd card. even with an older mid-range cpu (625) it is super smooth on stock android.

if Xiaomi could be bothered to put all the parts in one package with the A3 it will be a huge seller.

some info saying snapdragon 710, 3 cameras on back, 4000 to 4150mah battery, 6.3 inch screen.

    out in July.

Mi 7X will be released first with which will have the same hardware like before but not android one with Mi 6X and Mi A2.

so it actually won't have NFC

snapdragon 665 (very mild upgrade over 660)
    4000mah battery
triple rear cameras. main , wide, depth
    downgrade on the screen rez
    no sd expansion
    in-screen fingerprint reader

pretty meh upgrade overall really and no NFC is a bummer in mid 2019

    no lite version this time

seems expensive at €250 for the 4/64 model imo compared to other offerings maybe (like the mi9t at €270 online). would be better value at 200 euro
