    Hi,

I am thinking to buy us van but it is hard to find any calculator how much vrt will be. Any advice where is possible to find this info? In the section and menu those cars are not possible to select, they are not in menu...

    Cheers

You need to pay VAT, import duty and VRT as far as I know.

If the van doesn’t have anything like a certificate of conformity it will go onto the top 36% VRT rate. (Assuming it’s an MPV style van and not a cargo van)

The VRT is based on the open market selling price. Your import duty and VAT are based on the purchase&shipping price. For something like this there won’t be too many to compare to.

Without knowing basic details no one can tell you that.
What's the van in question? Year etc.

The closest thing I can find on vrt is a Chrysler grand Voyager, with a 3.8l petrol. The vrt was about 800euro based on a 2k valuation(100k miles 1995). Go to the vrt office for a more accurate estimate though. Also I doubt lpg will make any difference.

I doubt that you will get an estimate from the VRT office. If it's not coming up on the calculator then the vehicle has never been done before so you will need to present it VRT and then wait for them to give you the price. A friend just VRTd a bike and he had to wait for Revenue to get back even though for bikes VRT is easy to calculate, as its done on capacity and age only.

Does it have a bed in the back, think if you bring it in as a camper 13.3% of the value.
Not sure which is better have on the road here a van or camper, presume the camper status would be better.

Just needs some storage and something to cook with secured inside to qualify as a motor caravan then.

Will it not cost €1809 to tax a year here if using it privately. It's not a van in the typical sense of the word.

    Yes it will

Op worst case scenario is they’ll charge €1700 VRT, Best case €700.

There’s no way I’d drive 7 people around in one though, they’re very poor in a crash.

If the tax is that high you'd have to bring it as a camper for the €100 tax, don't see why you can't still use it as a 7 seater. You'd see them on done deal in the camper section think there's a similar dodge one for sale at the moment.
