2007 Land Rover Freelander 22 TD4

    Hi
I have just purchased a 2007 Land Rover Freelander 2 and was told by the garage that the car had bluetooth. There is indeed a telephone button on the radio unit and the owners manual also states that the vehicle has an inbuilt telephone feature. Having spent an age, however, without success, trying to get the telephone button to do anything at all, I am now extremely doubtful that the car does in fact have bluetooth especially as there is nothing on the steering wheel to connect or disconnect a call as shown on the diagram in the manual.

Can anyone out there in the motor world tell me if this model has or hasn't got inbuilt bluetooth?

    Many thanks.
    :)

What happens when you press the phone button?
I know the likes of Fords have the same radio across the range whether the Bluetooth is optioned or not. On those the telephone button just muted the radio.

Freelander 2 is Ford based so I’d guess it’s the same story.

When you press the phone button it should be asking you if you want to pair a phone, or show the already paired phones.

Hi Colm mcm - absolutely nothing happens when I press the telephone button which leads me to believe there is no bluetooth function! I'm hoping someone with the same car can tell me so I can stop thinking it must be me doing something wrong!

Just to let you know I eventually found out that the head unit in the Freelander is generic and the telephone button is a dummy!
