alba tablet headphone problem

I have seven inch alba tablet. The sound is very bad from speaker. A headphone jack 3.5 mm used to work but now all i get is noise. Is there anything i can do.? It is a cheap head phone but same as used before. ear phone won;t work either. They are 3.5 as well i think EDIT OK my phone headphone works.
